Scientific Notation Lesson


  1. Click on the link http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/populations/ctypopsl.htm
  2. Find the 5 smallest populated countries and the 5 largest populated countries
  3. On sheet of paper write the name of the country and its population, then convert the population into scientific notation
  4. Then go to http://www.easel.ly/create/?id=https://s3.amazonaws.com/easel.ly/all_easels/35605/populations&key=pri
  5. Type in the Scientific Notation for each country that you found.
  6. Drag the shadow image over and re-size to appropriate scale according to population size.
  7. Type your name in bottom left
  8. Type one fact about scientific notation in the top right corner.
  9. Click Save, Name your Visual FirstnameLSciNot1 (1 is Period Number), example: MelanieLSciNot1
  10. It will ask you to sign in…Sign-in information is on the board.
  11. Then click Home and under your Visual click Share, Download, Open in… Print
  12. Then if time allows Save to Server.
